FAQ

Questions, answered.

Answers to a few of the questions people often have before getting started. These are illustrative examples for this demo.

What happens during the first session?

The first session is mainly a conversation. You talk about what brought you in and what you hope for, and ask any questions you have. Together you decide how to work from there.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Many practices offer sessions both in person and online. A live practice would state exactly which options it provides here.

How long are sessions?

Session length varies by practice and by the type of session. A live practice would list its standard session lengths for individual and couples work.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Many people start by simply wanting to feel more understood, less stuck, or better equipped for something difficult. If you are unsure, an introductory conversation is a good way to find out whether counseling feels useful.

What should I expect from a consultation?

A consultation is a short, low-pressure conversation. You can share a little about what you are looking for, ask about how the practice works, and decide whether it feels like a good fit.

How do scheduling and cancellations work?

Scheduling and cancellation policies differ from practice to practice. A live practice would explain its own approach, including notice periods, here.
